Renting the fixtures is the easy part. What usually separates a room that feels like a show from a room that feels lit is whether anyone built the show.
That is what this package is. When you rent the appropriate lighting system from us, a professionally built festival-style EDM show comes with it. You are not handed a console and a blank playback. The idea is simple: bring a festival-style light show anywhere — a fraternity ballroom, an estate in the desert, a club night, a brand launch in a raw space.
How it deploys still depends on the event. The show is built for the fixture package, so the room, the rigging or ground-support, the power available and the production around it all shape the final layout. The programmed foundation travels with the system; the design is adapted to where it lands.
The difference
A moving light on its own does not create anything. Pointed at a dance floor with no programming behind it, an expensive fixture will sit there doing very little, or run a factory demo that has no relationship to the music playing.
Programming is what turns fixtures into a show — movement, beam positions, colour changes, strobes, intensity, the builds and drops, the transitions between looks, and the contrast that makes a big moment land because the moment before it was restrained. That work normally happens after you have already paid for the equipment, and it is the part most rentals leave to you.
Our lighting comes out of a production company rather than a warehouse. Everything is owned in-house and programmed by our own team on grandMA3 — the same approach behind our event lighting and dance-floor lighting work. The EDM package is that capability packaged as something you can rent.

That matters most where time is short. College and private events rarely give anyone days in a room — you often get a load-in window, a sound check and a doors time. A system with its show already built removes the longest and least predictable part of the process, and it is why the same rig can produce a genuinely concert-looking room on a schedule that would not allow a show to be written from scratch.

Large DJ-driven parties, formals and philanthropy events run on energy, and the lighting is most of what makes a room feel like a show rather than a party in a hall. Southern California has one of the densest college-event markets in the country — the USC and UCLA areas among them — and these productions are usually built fast, in a venue nobody has lit before, with a DJ who needs the room to move on the drop.
During Coachella weekend the Palm Springs and Indio area fills with private estate parties, hospitality events and after-parties that want the visual language of the main stage at a fraction of the footprint. The control platform
The show is built and run in the grandMA3 ecosystem — the control platform used on concert tours and festival stages. For an event client the relevant part is not the brand name, it is what it makes possible: a show can be programmed once, stored properly, and recalled at the next event instead of being rebuilt.
Where it makes sense operationally, the system runs on a grandMA3 onPC setup with an onPC Node providing the DMX output and processing. In plain terms: full console-grade playback without shipping a full-size console into a venue with a tight load-in. It is the practical reason a festival-grade show can go into a college ballroom or a private estate at all.

The common assumption is that EDM lighting means movement and strobes turned up. In practice the opposite is closer to the truth: what makes it work is restraint and timing, so the big moments have somewhere to arrive from.
A show programmed to the music tracks the energy of the set. A build tightens — beams pull in, intensity climbs, movement slows and gets deliberate. The drop lands as a hard change: a full-rig hit, a colour snap, strobes, the room going somewhere it has not been yet. Between the peaks there are quieter looks that exist so the peaks read as peaks, plus transitions that get from one to the next without the room noticing the seam.
The elements are ordinary — colour, intensity, beam position, movement, strobe, pacing and contrast. What separates a show from a light rig is that those elements are sequenced against the music rather than triggered at random or driven by a sound-active mode reacting to whatever is loudest.
Show programming
The EDM light show available with the NXL lighting system was professionally programmed by Duck Lights, giving the rig a polished concert-style foundation before it reaches the event. That programming is part of the rental — it is not a separate service and not something quoted per event.
The point of naming it is straightforward: the show was built properly, by people who program shows, rather than assembled on site from fixture defaults. What you are renting has already been through that work.
