Venue Experience

Hilton Universal City

A hotel above the studios, with a ballroom that hosts weddings, mitzvahs and corporate nights in the same week. What a room like this asks of a production is not spectacle for its own sake — it is knowing the building: where the load-in door is, what the power situation is, and how to make a neutral ballroom stop reading as a conference space the moment the dancing starts.

Recommended in writing by the hotel’s Director of Catering.

What we produced

Our work at this venue

We have produced weddings in the Hilton Universal City ballroom — the photograph on this page is from one of them. The hotel's Director of Catering has also recommended us in writing, describing DJ Next Level Entertainment as “a valuable partner of Hilton Universal City for over 10 years” who is “always welcome to our property”. We do not hold preferred or approved vendor status here.

We are not a preferred, approved or exclusive vendor at this property, and nothing on this page states the venue’s own requirements — those are confirmed with the property for your specific date.

Planning an event at the Hilton Universal City?

Tell us your date and we will tell you honestly whether we are open, and what this room needs. Full production in-house: DJ and MC, sound, lighting, LED walls and staging — with live musicians and vocalists curated through our production partners.

Venue recommendation

What Hilton Universal City said about working with us

“DJ Next Level Entertainment has been a valuable partner of Hilton Universal City for over 10 years. We have grown to expect only the best Entertainment and professionalism from them to which it is the reason they are always welcome to our property.”

A written recommendation from this venue’s catering leadership, quoted as written. It is a personal recommendation and a historical statement, not a current preferred, approved or exclusive vendor status — we hold none at this or any venue.

From the event

What a decade inside one hotel actually buys you

Most of what goes wrong at a hotel event goes wrong before a single guest arrives. The dock is occupied, the service elevator is smaller than the LED frame, the ballroom is still in a lunch set at four o’clock, or the power drop is on the wrong wall. None of that is visible in a photograph of a finished room, and all of it is the difference between a calm setup and a frantic one.

Hilton Universal City’s Director of Catering put the value of that in his own words, describing our company as “a valuable partner” the hotel had “grown to expect only the best Entertainment and professionalism from”. We would rather quote him than characterise ourselves.

Making a hotel ballroom stop looking like a hotel ballroom

Hotel ballrooms are built to be neutral so they can be anything, which is exactly why they need lighting more than a venue with its own character does. On the house setting the room reads as a function space with a dance floor in it. The fix is deliberate rather than complicated: colour on the walls, tables lit warmly enough to eat by, and everything else brought down so the floor is the brightest thing in the room once the dancing starts.

Guests feel the change between dinner and dancing without being able to name what changed. That is the whole point of doing it properly.

What we confirm with the property, and what we never state for it

Everything we bring is owned in-house and run by our own crew, so the setup is a known quantity rather than a sub-rental that turns up on the day. What is never a known quantity is the property side: access and load-in windows, dock and elevator use, power, curfew, and the certificate of insurance the hotel wants on file. We confirm all of it with the hotel for your specific date.

Anything past standard sound and lighting — haze, cold sparks, a large LED structure, anything rigged — is a permission conversation with the property and the fire code, not a decision we can make for them. We open it early rather than the week of the event.

Questions

Hilton Universal City questions

Have you worked at the Hilton Universal City?

We have produced weddings in the Hilton Universal City ballroom — the photograph on this page is from one of them. The hotel's Director of Catering has also recommended us in writing, describing DJ Next Level Entertainment as “a valuable partner of Hilton Universal City for over 10 years” who is “always welcome to our property”. We do not hold preferred or approved vendor status here.

Are you a preferred vendor at the Hilton Universal City?

No. We have produced an event there, which is a different thing. We hold no preferred-vendor, approved or exclusive relationship with this or any venue, and we would not claim one.

What does the venue allow for lighting, effects and LED?

That depends on the room, the date and your booking, so we confirm it with the property rather than stating it here. Anything beyond standard sound and lighting — haze, effects, rigging, a large LED structure — is a permission conversation we start early.

Can you provide a certificate of insurance to the venue?

Yes. We are fully insured and provide a certificate of insurance to any venue on request, and we confirm the property's specific documentation requirements for your date.

Do you bring your own equipment?

Yes. Our sound, lighting and LED inventory is owned in-house and operated by our own crew — not sub-rented.

How long have you worked at Hilton Universal City?

The hotel’s Director of Catering wrote that DJ Next Level Entertainment had been “a valuable partner of Hilton Universal City for over 10 years”. His letter is not dated, so we quote his wording rather than converting it into a number of years from today — that would be us inventing a figure he did not give.

Does that letter mean you are approved by the hotel?

No. It is a personal letter of recommendation from a member of the catering team, not a vendor designation, and it is a historical statement rather than a current status. We hold no preferred, approved or exclusive relationship with this or any venue. Your contract for the room is with the hotel, and the hotel decides who it approves.

Do you have photographs from events at this venue?

Yes — the photograph on this page is our own, from a wedding reception we produced in the ballroom here. It shows the LED wall, the uplighting and the moving lights as they were set for that night. We hold no video from this property.
