Most of the traditional choices run three to four minutes. Bringing one down to around 90 seconds keeps the part that matters and loses the repetition.
Combining both parent dances
Many couples run the father-daughter and mother-son dances back to back as one piece of music, with a transition in the middle. It halves the floor time and it plays beautifully.

How long should the father-daughter dance be?
Around 90 seconds works for most receptions. The parent dances sit in the part of the evening where the room is seated and watching, so they read longer than they are. If both parent dances are happening, keeping each one short matters more.
Can you combine the father-daughter and mother-son dances?
Yes, and it is one of our most requested edits. Both songs are cut down and joined with a transition so the two dances run as one continuous piece — the floor changes over without a gap, and the whole segment takes about as long as one full-length song would have.
What are good song choices?
That is entirely yours to pick, and the sentimental fit matters more than anything we could suggest. What we can tell you is that almost any song works once it is the right length — the songs that fail at receptions are usually just too long, not badly chosen.
Can you use a song that is not on streaming?
Yes. If you have the file, send it. Older recordings, regional music and non-English tracks are common and are not a problem, though very poor source quality does limit what an edit can sound like.
How do I get my songs to you?
Two ways, and you can use either. Paste a link in the form — Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer or OneDrive all work — or submit the form first and email your files to djnextlevelent@gmail.com with your project number in the subject line. Large files, and anything uncompressed like a WAV, should go by link rather than email, since most inboxes reject attachments over about 25MB.
What if it is not quite right?
Tell us what to change and we will change it. The most useful feedback is timestamped — “at 1:14 let the chorus run another eight seconds” is immediately actionable in a way that “the middle feels off” is not. Revisions are part of the process; a project that needs a fundamental change of direction is quoted separately.
What about copyright?
You need lawful access to any file you send us, and editing a track does not transfer any ownership in the underlying music. Streaming links you share are treated as references so we can identify the song — we do not download from streaming services. Where a recording will be performed publicly or distributed, any licensing that applies remains between you, your venue and the relevant rights holders.
