Anything large — an uncompressed file, or a long recording — should go by link rather than email, since most mail providers reject big attachments.

How long should the mother-son dance be?
About 90 seconds, for the same reason as the father-daughter dance — it happens while the room is seated, and seated time passes slowly. If it is the second of the two parent dances, keeping it tight matters even more.
Can both parent dances be one edit?
Yes. We cut both songs and build a transition between them so the two dances run continuously. Tell us which order you want and roughly how long each half should be.
Can you edit a song that is not in English?
Yes. Editing works on musical structure rather than lyrics, so language is not a constraint. If there is a specific lyric or section that has to be kept, point us at it in the notes and we will build around it.
What if my mother and I want something upbeat?
That works well and is more common than people expect. An upbeat parent dance often wants a slightly different treatment — a shorter runtime and a harder ending — because the energy carries the moment rather than the sentiment.
How do I get my songs to you?
Two ways, and you can use either. Paste a link in the form — Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer or OneDrive all work — or submit the form first and email your files to djnextlevelent@gmail.com with your project number in the subject line. Large files, and anything uncompressed like a WAV, should go by link rather than email, since most inboxes reject attachments over about 25MB.
What if it is not quite right?
Tell us what to change and we will change it. The most useful feedback is timestamped — “at 1:14 let the chorus run another eight seconds” is immediately actionable in a way that “the middle feels off” is not. Revisions are part of the process; a project that needs a fundamental change of direction is quoted separately.
What about copyright?
You need lawful access to any file you send us, and editing a track does not transfer any ownership in the underlying music. Streaming links you share are treated as references so we can identify the song — we do not download from streaming services. Where a recording will be performed publicly or distributed, any licensing that applies remains between you, your venue and the relevant rights holders.
