Hanukkah is eight nights, and its dates move every year with the Hebrew calendar, landing in late November or December. That puts Hanukkah parties in the busiest stretch of the holiday season, next to company parties and New Year’s Eve. It is why the date is the first thing to lock in.

A candle lighting with the whole family, then dinner and a dance floor in the living room, backyard or a tented patio. Sound is sized so it fills the party without taking over the street, and setup is planned around the house, the neighbors and where the menorah will stand.

The music
Hanukkah, Israeli and crossover music for every generation
A Hanukkah party has at least three audiences: young children, parents and grandparents, and often a group of teens or college-age cousins. We build the night so each gets its moment without the room splitting. Traditional Hanukkah songs belong to the candle lighting and the kids. Israeli and Hebrew hits and a hora bring everyone onto the floor together. Current Top 40, hip-hop and throwbacks carry the rest of the night.
Families have different backgrounds, and the music follows them. For Israeli families we lean on current Israeli pop and Mizrahi music; our Israeli music guide explains the range. For Persian-Jewish families we add modern Persian pop and 6/8, the same blend we play at Persian-Jewish weddings. Production
Sound, lighting and LED for a Hanukkah party
Everything comes from our own inventory in Tarzana, so the equipment is planned with the music rather than sub-rented at the last minute. A sound system sized to the room and wireless microphones for the blessings and speeches are the foundation. Uplighting in blue and white sets the room before anyone reaches the dance floor. An LED wall can show family photos, a welcome message or a countdown to the candle lighting.
For a bigger entrance, cold sparks are available, subject to venue approval, fire-safety approval, local rules and site conditions. Power and rigging also depend on the venue, so we confirm all of it with the venue before including it. We never assume approval. For the whole evening run by one team, see event production.

Hanukkah party DJ questions
When should we book a DJ for a Hanukkah party?
As early as you can. Hanukkah lasts eight nights and falls in late November or December depending on the year, which puts it in the same weeks as company holiday parties and New Year's Eve. Weekend nights during Hanukkah are the first to go, so reaching out in the early fall gives you the most choice of date.
Can you handle the menorah lighting and blessings?
Yes. The candle lighting is usually the moment the whole room gathers, so we plan it as its own cue: a wireless microphone for whoever leads the blessings, the music brought down so every guest can hear, and the room brought back up with a song once the candles are lit. Tell us who is leading it and whether you want Maoz Tzur or another song sung together afterward.
What music do you play at a Hanukkah party?
A mix built around your crowd: traditional Hanukkah songs for the candle lighting and the little ones, Israeli and Hebrew hits and a hora for the dance floor, and current Top 40, hip-hop and throwbacks so teens and adults stay on the floor. For Persian-Jewish families we add modern Persian pop and 6/8. Send us the songs you want and anything you don't.
Do you MC in Hebrew?
Our MC work is primarily in English, with Hebrew and Farsi announcements as needed so grandparents and guests from abroad follow what is happening. If you need the whole evening hosted in Hebrew, tell us early and we will be straight with you about fit.
Can you work around Shabbat when Hanukkah falls on a Friday?
Yes. When a Hanukkah party overlaps Friday night or Saturday, observant families often shift the timing, the candle lighting or the amplified portion of the evening. We plan setup, sound checks and the start time around your family's practice and your rabbi's guidance rather than a standard schedule. Our lead team handles setup, so the room can be ready before Shabbat begins. For an event that starts right after Shabbat, at a hotel or another venue, you can book DJ Next Level for the whole production: our head lead technician runs the lighting, and a head senior technician is assigned to run the audio.
Do you do Hanukkah parties at synagogues, schools and community centers?
Yes. Community events need clear speech for announcements and blessings, a sound system sized to a social hall or an outdoor courtyard, and a DJ who can keep young children and adults engaged at the same event. We coordinate load-in times, power and noise rules with the venue directly.
Can you add lighting, an LED wall or cold sparks?
Yes, all from our own inventory. Blue-and-white uplighting changes the whole feel of a room, an LED wall can run family photos or the countdown to the candle lighting, and cold sparks can mark a big entrance. Cold sparks and similar effects are subject to venue approval, fire-safety approval, local rules and site conditions, so we confirm them with your venue before promising them.
How much does a Hanukkah party DJ cost?
