Venue Experience

Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village

The ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village is a white-and-gold room with crystal chandeliers — a room that already has a look before anyone brings a light into it. That is the design problem worth getting right here.

What we produced

Our work at this venue

We produced a wedding in the ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village. The photographs on this page are from that event, used with the photographer's permission.

We are not a preferred, approved or exclusive vendor at this property, and nothing on this page states the venue’s own requirements — those are confirmed with the property for your specific date.

Lighting a room that is already beautiful

In a room with its own chandeliers and warm architectural detail, the temptation is to add more light. Usually the better answer is less, placed more carefully. On the wedding we produced there, the work was warm uplighting that sat with the gold in the room rather than fighting it, a monogram on the dance floor, and pin-spotting on the tables so the candlelit settings read properly once the room went down for dinner.

What we would avoid in this room is heavy saturated colour across the walls. It reads well in a dark black-box ballroom and it wrestles with this one.

Ceremony, dinner and dance floor are three different systems

A wedding here typically moves between spaces, and each one is its own audio problem. A ceremony needs intelligibility above all — vows and an officiant carrying clearly, with discreet microphones that do not sit in the photographs. Dinner needs music present but conversational, at a level people can talk over comfortably. The dance floor needs real low end without shaking the room next door.

We plan those as separate systems rather than one system turned up and down, which is the usual reason a wedding sounds good at dinner and thin when the dancing starts.

What we coordinate with the property

Access times, dock and elevator use, where our equipment can stage before doors, and the certificate of insurance the hotel requires are all confirmed directly with the property for your date. We do not publish a venue's rules here, because they vary by booking and by season, and a plan built on an assumption is how a load-in goes wrong.

If your event includes anything beyond standard sound and lighting — haze, effects, rigging, a large LED structure — that is a permission conversation with the hotel, and we start it early rather than on the day.

Questions

Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village questions

Have you worked at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village?

We produced a wedding in the ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village. The photographs on this page are from that event, used with the photographer's permission.

Are you a preferred vendor at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village?

No. We have produced an event there, which is a different thing. We hold no preferred-vendor, approved or exclusive relationship with this or any venue, and we would not claim one.

What does the venue allow for lighting, effects and LED?

That depends on the room, the date and your booking, so we confirm it with the property rather than stating it here. Anything beyond standard sound and lighting — haze, effects, rigging, a large LED structure — is a permission conversation we start early.

Can you provide a certificate of insurance to the venue?

Yes. We are fully insured and provide a certificate of insurance to any venue on request, and we confirm the property's specific documentation requirements for your date.

Do you bring your own equipment?

Yes. Our sound, lighting and LED inventory is owned in-house and operated by our own crew — not sub-rented.
